Mechanical Project Engineer – Data Centre Project
Location: Denmark
Work model: On-site
Your responsibilities
As Mechanical Project Engineer, you will coordinate day-to-day mechanical engineering activities on a major Data Centre project—from design review and procurement through installation, testing and handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- reviewing project specifications, design documents and construction drawings;
- coordinating mechanical works with electrical, sprinkler, structural and architectural packages;
- preparing and reviewing coordinated installation drawings;
- assessing technical submittals for compliance and constructability;
- raising and tracking RFIs to resolve design queries;
- identifying value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities;
- attending project handover, technical and coordination meetings;
- supporting weekly progress reporting;
- processing requisitions and supporting the preparation of purchase orders;
- tracking equipment, materials and deliveries to site;
- verifying materials and equipment received on site;
- coordinating designers, contractors, subcontractors and internal project teams;
- supporting the management of variations, take-offs and other commercial matters;
- preparing method statements and risk assessments;
- carrying out mechanical inspections, snagging and system walkdowns;
- checking completed installations against P&IDs and layout drawings;
- preparing, updating and tracking test packs;
- maintaining accurate technical documentation and document control;
- complying with project information-security requirements.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who have:
- a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline;
- previous project engineering experience with a mechanical contractor;
- experience on Data Centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or large commercial projects;
- strong understanding of mechanical systems, P&IDs and construction drawings;
- experience developing or reviewing technical submittals;
- knowledge of multidisciplinary design and installation coordination;
- the ability to assess mechanical installations against project specifications;
- experience supporting procurement, subcontractors and equipment deliveries;
- knowledge of inspections, snagging, test packs and project handover;
- good commercial awareness, including variations and take-offs;
- knowledge of HSE and quality-management processes;
- strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills;
- the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced site environment;
- good command of English;
- legal eligibility to work in Denmark.
Previous experience delivering mechanical packages on a hyperscale Data Centre project will be a significant advantage.
